Moving Time!

Luckily it's not for me this time! My street has been lined with moving trucks every day this week. One of the perks about living on a street where every one is leaving is that you end up with stuff that others don't want to keep any more. In the past month we have gotten 3 children's bikes (for Naomi, Jeffrey and Jessie). A few patio chairs, a patio table (doesn't match the chairs but beggars can't be choosers. We now have more baby dolls as well as gaining , a Tonka truck. We picked up a rice cooker (which I have never had before and have decided that I love) and Naomi has several pair of flip flops to lose all over the house! The crowning glory of our moving freebies however is this.....

Thank again to the Priest Quorum for moving a piano before the big graduation celebration. The kids are enjoying it a lot. I've tried to play it a few times but it is horribly out of tune and it drives me crazy. (The pieces that Jessie and Caroline can play right now are very localised around middle C and the octaves above and below middle C are tolerable.) I wonder if the thing has been tuned at all ever. Some of the keys sound like car horns and some sound like space ships, some of the notes go up when they should go down, and we even have a few keys that play cords instead of one note! But we have a piano and it was free. Now I just have to convince Pooka to move in next door so we can have a resident tuner!
