cute tidbits

  • On the way home from school

The kids were deciding whether to watch "The Very Hungary Caterpillar" or "The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" (I had just picked them up from the public library DVD section) After much debate the older kids asked Kiersti which one she wanted to watch. Kiersti said, "um, the diarrhea movie!"

  • Over heard by the preschool teacher!

Jaren [to Isabella]: Will you marry me next Tuesday?

Isabella looks baffeled and is unsure how to answer.

Kiersti: If she won't, I will!!!

Random Bits

Just thought I should chime in again. Since this is really my first blog for this year I thought I would let you know some of the many things we have been doing. In January Jeffrey advanced to yellow belt. The above sunset picture was taken from the parking lot out side of the karate studio.

Caroline turned 9 and enjoyed her birthday waffles, (yes she had cake too. but on a different day at her party) She wanted a Harry Potter party so we played some quidditch (pictured below) and smashed the "prophecy" pinata. The same weekend as Caroline's party, we watched Gerturde's crew. We took them all to church and were asked by several people if we had adopted a bunch of kids! I'm not sure why they all jumped to that conclusion but I thought it was a little funny. We did survive church with 9 kids 10 and under, but we made Gertrude do the the same thing a few weeks later when Kieth and I took an anniversary trip. We had to change our plans and head south instead of north because of a big snow storm up north. We ended up at a bed and breakfast in Tuscon. Our host was from Bali and had all sorts of Indonesian decor. We enjoyed all the cool musical instruments. The bed was just about the coolest thing I have ever seen. Here are some close ups of the intricate wood work.
Jessie and Caroline have been involved with the cheer leading squad at their school all year. On Thursday, Jessie tried out for the middle school squad for next year . She made it!!! She is so excited. The video is from a performance little while ago. Caroline is one of the spotters and Jessie is often the one you see flying through the air.

Also here is a cool picture of my awesome man.

Pecan Fun By:Caroline C.

Today I was cracking pecans with Dad and Jeffman. We were having fun when all the sudden Dad cracked the pecan at just the right angle and...BOOOOOOM!!!!! All of the sudden both ends pop off leaving only two perfect haves of the pecan. At this time Dad, Jeffman, and I go tell Mom and Jessie. After that we were all wishing for it to happen again and Dad said,"we'd be done a long time ago if that happened to every pecan." Nothing was that fun after that big boom. .....Well maybe when I got the perfect ones, but not as fun as the boom.

Silly Sentence by: Jessie

My mom went on Facebook and came upon a silly sentence maker. Mine was this; I did the macarana with a banana in a bank line because I think I need some serious help! It was very funny. We did other sentences, like this one for my dad. I karate chopped a fork, under my bed , because I am a ninja! We had fun making these sentences for many others too. We did one for Aunt Frogealee and one for Aunt Gerty. Jefferey's was :I love my mobile phone on a motorcycle because I think I need some serious help! They make no sense! That is why they are soooo funny.

Getting in the Christmas Spirit

This post is a little belated but I think I finally figured out how to get the video to work

We had a wonderful time at Cindy's house for dessert on Thanksgiving. We have spent time with her so many times for holidays that it just dosen't feel complete without that visit. With the giant croud, the girls just couldn't pass up the opportunity to perform.
Facebook Your Videos: I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas [HQ]

Some of the girls had learned some fun songs at school and taught the others. (we heard these songs soooo many times durring the week before) They sure are a cute quartette

I know, I know, it's been too long...

When I came out of my bedroom on Saturday morning this is what I found. The kids were getting ready for conference. Jessie thought it would be fun to have a tent like the Nephites who listened to King Benjamin. It was a cute and fun idea but the kids were only in it for a half hour before they were done with it. Then it was just an obstuction to work around. I guess a half hour of fun is good though.
In other goings on here are the pictures my AWESOME friend Sarah took of my kids this summer.

Oh, by the way if you missed it, We moved to Arizona. It was not our plan at all till the last minute but we are so glad to be here. The kids are loving their school here and making friends fast. Jessie and Caroline are on the junior cheer squad and Jeff and Naomi just started karate. Kiersti thinks that she is Hannah Montana, which is ok most of the time but I have yet to convince her that belting out "Best of Both Worlds" is not appropriate in church.
